About Me: Six Nation – Eight musicians from six nations
Argentina, Germany, Italy, Kosovo, Poland and Zanzibar
Six Nation are: Singer Pachango, Moe on the Bass, Seif Rengwe playing Trumpet, Pierre De Stefano on the Saxophone, drummer Toby Nambur, on the keys Mari Gutiérrez, guitarist Micha „The Crool“ and on the percussion Marius Eckstein.
Six Nation was established in early 2006, emerging from various projects of lead singer Pachango and bassist Moe, who have been cooperating since 2002. Nowadays the band has grown to eight passionate musicians that fuse reggae with elements of ska and Latin-American rhythms. Despite the early stage of the band’s existence, it already delivered many great performances - thanks to the band’s excellent live skills.
2010 was the so far most successful year for Six Nations. For the first time the band managed to do 40 concerts. One of the highlights was the WDR Funkhaus Europa Party. The show was broadcasted live on the radio. Ever since Six Nation has been included in WDR’s radio rotation. Straight after that the band rocked the audience at the Berliner Karneval der Kulturen and at the Burg Herzberg Festival. Following that, they played as a support for South-Africa’s most popular band Freshlyground, also known for their World Cup song “Waka Waka” featuring Shakira
The band’s live performances are definitely living up to the promise of the sweeping sound of the album. Even more, the band had five years to gain experience, refine their interplay and enchant their audience over and over again. On various festivals they had been in touch with very well-known artists like Israel Vibration, Culcha Candela, Okada Supersound, Sebastian Sturm, Umoya, Ganjaman, House of Riddim Everton Blender, Rico Rodriguez, Jeff Beck, Osibisa, New Model Army, Freshlyground, Balkan Beatbox, Sargento Garcia, Babylon Circus, Africando and many more. Also, they co-operate with the well known producer Guido Craveiro, who is responsible for a powerful and enormous live sound.
Eight musicians from Six Nations that are bringing the culture, the music and joie de vivre of their heritage closer to themselves – and the audience. That’s what their show and sound is all about.
